Porcelain Veneers Chula Vista, San Diego

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are created in a dental lab.  They are thin porcelain caps that are very durable.  They can be custom created for color and fit. These are bonded to your front teeth creating a very attractive and beautiful smile.

Your teeth and smile can be totally reshaped with veneers. Frequently used as an alternative to crowns, they are perfect for the treatment of a variety of dental conditions. They are made to last a long time, and will keep your smile beautiful for years to come.

What is involved in getting porcelain veneers?

Even though little or no anesthesia is used to get veneers, it could take at least two visits in order to finish the process. Before the veneer is applied, the teeth will be buffed and shaped lightly to make a better surface that accommodates the veneer's thickness. Your dentist will take an impression or a mold of your teeth, then you and the dentist will choose the right shade or color for your repair.

During the second visit, special liquids will be used to clean the teeth in order to achieve a durable bond. A bonding substance is then put on the tooth and veneer with a special ray of light used to stiffen the bond.
